In Our Spotlight

Big Shout Out to our very own Mr. Winchel, who has qualified for the Boston Marathon!!

The Ithaca-Weston wrestling team won the Ridge & Valley Conference Dual meet championship on Saturday.

The wrestlers defeated Kickapoo-Lafarge 54-12, River Ridge Cassville 52-12, DeSoto 48-18 and Pecatonica-Argyle 53-12 setting up a show down with defending conference champion North Crawford-Seneca for the title.

The teams battled to a 42-42 tie at the end of 14 matches. Going to the WIAA tie breaker criteria for determining a dual meet winner the Ithaca-Weston wrestlers were awarded the title based on criteria # 8 – having the most first match points scored with the edge by a 9-8 margin.

113 # wrestler Kelley Thieding won her first career match by scoring a pin vs. her opponent in the Pecatonica-Argyle match.

Congratulations to Kelley and all of the wrestlers.
